Riphah International University and Riphah Institute of Healthcare Improvement & Safety (RIHIS) organized the 7th International Conference on Patient Safety (ICPS) at Jinnah Convention Center Islamabad. For the past eight years, RIHIS has been the driving force behind the region’s largest annual gathering on patient safety, attracting prominent figures in the healthcare sector such as key opinion leaders, domain experts, regulators, academia, and stakeholders from around the globe. ICPS provides a platform to allow experts in Patient Safety to come together to create momentum in the advancement of Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety in Pakistan and the region. This year the conference spotlighted the theme of “Diagnostic Safety,” highlighting the fundamental importance of accurate and timely diagnoses in effective healthcare delivery.
The event featured esteemed figures including Mr. Hassan Muhammad Khan Chancellor Riphah International University and Patron ICPS, Mr. Asadullah Khan Executive Director Riphah and Co Patron ICPS alongside Dr. Zakiuddin Ahmed Chairman ICPS and renowned international speakers: Mr. Murat Soner Kucukkaya, Managing Director, JCIA Middle East & Africa, Ms. Leslee Thompson, CEO, Accreditation Canada, Prof. Dr. Seval Akgun, Chief Quality Officer Baskent University Hospital Network Turkey, Dr. Mohamed Syahid bin Hassan, SingHealth Duke-NUS Institute for Patient Safety and Quality, Singapore. Dr. Muhammad Ahmed Kazi, Director General of Health, and Mr. Arshad Qaimkhani, CEO of the Sehat Sahulat Program, graced the conference as guest of honors. Furthermore, Dr. Faisal Sultan, Group CEO of SKMCH&RC, and Medical Directors and CEOs from AKU, Al Khidmat, The Indus Hospital, and Ali Medical Center joined the event as national speakers, sharing their insights regarding the significance of patient safety for the healthcare system in Pakistan. With a mission to ensure safe and quality healthcare services for all patients in Pakistan, the conference aimed to foster collaboration among global leaders in patient safety and engage local stakeholders.
