Goals of Healthcare Quality and Safety Diploma Program

Goals of the Healthcare Quality and Safety Diploma program are to:

Produce healthcare quality improvement and patient safety change agents and professionals, who can initiate, manage and sustain change and develop safer healthcare systems in Pakistan.

Integrate healthcare quality and safety concepts in the continuum of patients’ care.

PROGRAM AUDIENCES

This Diploma program is designed for:

Mid to advanced career healthcare administrators,  health professionals, Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists, Rehabilitation and other healthcare professionals working within healthcare settings, healthcare plans or management companies, academic organizations, pharmaceuticals,  health information technology, community organizations, and public/government entities. Preference will be given to Quality and Safety Professionals already working in Quality Departments of Hospitals and other healthcare organizations.

Entry Admission Requirements

  1. To be eligible for admission to the Diploma program, a candidate:
  • Shall possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree and a minimum of 16 years of schooling or an equivalent qualification in the relevant discipline from a recognized University/Degree Awarding Institute (DAI)
  • Each candidate shall make an application for admission in response to an advertisement by the University/Department on a prescribed form along with the documents specified in the form.
  • The admission to the program shall be made on the basis of cumulative merit to be determined from the previous academic record an interview.
  • Anyone who has been rusticated or expelled by a University/DAI or college for misconduct or for use of unfair means in the examinations or for any offense involving moral turpitude shall not be eligible for admission in any program of the University.
  1. The admission committee shall be approved by the Vice-Chancellor on recommendations of the Dean. The committee shall consist of the following and the quorum for a meeting of the committee shall be minimum of three (3):

Instructional Strategy and Assessment

Instructional Strategies

A constructivist approach and experiential learning shall be used as an educational philosophy. Problem-based learning, task-based learning, group discussions and hands-on activities will be key components.

Contact sessions will include lectures, group discussions, self-study periods, projects and workshops with hands-on practical skills teaching.

  • Each semester is of eight credit hours.   2 semesters Total 16
  • The teaching will include in each semester :
  • 7 days of face to face contact sessions of 8 hours per day
  • There will be two contact sessions in one semester of 07 days each
  • There will be an Online submission of project-based assignment and end of semester exam.
